BRISTOL, TN — Through the end of September, two special photography exhibits are on display at The Nature Center at Steele Creek Park: "Native Wildflowers of the Southern Appalachians" by Marty Silver and "Wonders of Steele Creek Park: A Photo Journey" by Sonie Schermer.
On Friday, Sept. 13 at 4 p.m. Silver and Schermer will be present to talk about the subjects of their photographs, to discuss their interest in nature photography, and to answer questions.
Silver is well known to folks in the region as the long-serving naturalist at Warriors' Path State Park in Kingsport. His informative presentations have enthralled and entertained thousands of children and adults in the Tri Cities for many years.
In addition to being one of the founding board members and an ongoing workhorse of Friends of Steele Creek Nature Center and Park, Schermer is an accomplished nature photographer. Her images demonstrate a wide spectrum of qualities.
