Bands announced for Legacy Housing Foundation benefit

November 22, 2019

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.— Legacy Housing Foundation has announced the bands that will play for this year’s Fais Do-Do, a Cajun dance party and benefit for the nonprofit organization. The event is Friday, Nov. 22 at The Standard, 416 W. Jackson Ave.

Four-time Grammy-nominated Pine Leaf Boys headline the show. The world-renowned Cajun band presents their own brand of Louisiana music reviving ancient songs and bringing them to the bandstand. They put a rock ‘n’ roll spin on old fashion dance hall standards to create a sound for the ears as well as the feet. Rolling Stone said the band is “the next best thing to a Saturday night dance in Lafayette.” Roux du Bayou opens the set with a repertoire that includes old French and Creole ballads as well as present day Cajun sound.

Billed as a bodacious benefit, Fais Do-Do proves you don’t have to be born in the Bayou to appreciate great Cajun music and dance. Tickets to Fais Do-Do are $35 and available online at Eventbrite.com. Doors open at 7 p.m. and show start is 7:30 p.m. Beer and wine will be sold.

Tickets are available at EventBrite.com. For more information, visit www.legacyhousingfoundation.org.
