JOHNSON CITY –Johnson City Public Library is hosting the annual Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale from Oct. 25-27 in the Library’s Jones Meeting Room. The sale is open to the public Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 27 from 1-3 p.m.

Anyone can sign up to become a Friends member at the sale.

Every year the sale includes a special discount. This year, anyone who has a Little Free Library in their yard will receive up to 10 free books when they bring a photo of themselves in front of it. Sunday’s sale also includes a special all-you-can-carry option, in which people pay a flat $5.00 for as many items as they can fit in a paper grocery bag. The bags are provided at the sale.

The sale features thousands of donated books, audiobooks, DVDs and music albums. Kathi Cary, Friends of the Johnson City Public Library Board President, says, “I love seeing the wide variety of materials and genres. In the past I’ve purchased items ranging from a John Denver album to Midsomer Murder DVDs, to books about gardening, to puzzles.”Along with finding hidden gems, the sale offers people a chance to support their local library. All proceeds from the sale go to furthering Johnson City Public Library’s work.
