The Johnson City Public Library holds a variety of events during the upcoming week.

Wednesday, Dec. 11

  • Toddler Time (Ages 18-36 months and caregivers) 10:15-10:45 a.m.
  • Preschool Story time (Ages 3-5 years and caregivers) 11-11:30 a.m.
  • An Evening of Hygge: Winter Comfort & Crafting (Ages 18+) 6-8 p.m. Room set up with cocoa and tea bar for cozy evening of reading or crafting, wear comfy clothes.

Thursday, Dec. 12

  • Toddler Time (Ages 18-36 months and caregivers) 10:15-10:45 a.m.
  • Preschool Story time (Ages 3-5 years and caregivers) 11-11:30 a.m.
  • Towne Acres Choir Concert (All ages) 11:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Choir from Towne Acres Elementary School sing in the Buffalo Mountain Room.
  • Book Worms: Mice Skating (Ages 5-8) 6:15-7 p.m. Registration required.
  • Spanish-Inglés Conversation (All ages) 6-7 p.m. All language skill levels, converse with Spanish and English speakers. Hablar con hablantes de inglés y español, para todos niveles e edades.


Friday, Dec. 13

  • Adult Special Needs (Ages 18+) 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Stories, songs and crafts for adults with special needs.


Saturday, Dec. 14

  • Family Building Day (All ages) 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Drop in with family to build with Legos and other materials.

Monday, Dec. 16

  • Music Morning (Ages birth-5 years & caregivers) 10-11 a.m.
  • Tale to Tail (Ages 5-9 & caregivers) 4-5, 5:15-6:15 p.m. Register for 15-minute time slot to read to trained listening dog.
  • Holiday Harp Music with Harp Strings (All ages) 6-7 p.m. Harpists play holiday music in Buffalo Mountain Room.
  • Evening Preschool Story time (Ages 3-5 & caregivers) 6:30-7 p.m. Same as Tuesday and Wednesday storytimes, children can wear pajamas.


Tuesday, Dec. 17

  • Toddler Time (Ages 18-36 months and caregivers) 10:15-10:45 a.m.
  • Preschool Story time (Ages 3-5 years and caregivers) 11-11:30 a.m.
  • VA Homeless Programs Assistance (Ages 18+) 12:30-1:30 p.m. VA community outreach social worker will be available to talk with U.S. veterans about short- and long-term housing options.
  • Taller Literario / Spanish Literary Club (Ages 18+) 6-7 p.m. Must have at least intermediate skill level, discussions in Spanish of classic and modern Spanish literature, registration required. (Mayores de 18 años) 6-7 p.m. Debe tener al menos habilidades intermedias, discusiones en Español de literatura Española clásica y moderna, se require registro.
  • Star Wars Celebration (Ages 12-18) 6-7:30 p.m. Celebrate the release of the newest Star Wars with games, snacks, trivia, and cosplay contest, registration required.
