Johnson City Public Library holds Summer Reading program

June 1 – July 24, 2020 @ Johnson City Public Library

JOHNSON CITY – Johnson City Public Library’s Summer Reading program began Monday, June 1 and will run through Friday, July 24. This year’s registration, reading challenges and events take place online because the library building is closed during the pandemic. People can learn more at www.jcpl.org/summer-reading and register.

Summer Reading is an annual nationwide program that encourages people of all ages to spend the summer reading. Participants register and then spend the summer tracking their reading progress, winning prizes and attending events.

The program is divided into age divisions: preschool children, school age children, teens and adults. This year’s Summer Reading theme is “Imagine Your Story,” so reading challenges and events for the different age groups all focus on fairy tales and stories of epic adventures.
