• OCT 21-24: The Emory & Henry College drama department performs “Spring Awakening” in the McGlothlin Center for the Arts, Emory, Va. It’s 1891 and youths are maturing into a world where grown-ups control their every move but keep them in the dark on their biggest questions about their own sexuality and their futures. This coming-of-age story follows Wendla, Moritz, Melchoir and their friends as they discover their place in this world and the dire consequences to adults filling children’s brains with book smarts but teaching them very little about life outside of Latin and math.
