Wolf Hills Community School Hosts Dance Party for Meals on Wheels

November 22, 2019 @ Community Center of Abingdon

ABINGDON, VA — Wolf Hills Community School hosts a family-friendly dance party to benefit Meals on Wheels. All are invited to participate in this community wide event to be held Friday, Nov. 22 from 7-10 p.m. at the Community Center of Abingdon.

Donations are accepted at the door for admission to the event. Music is provided by DJ Dan Joe, and the Community Center of Abingdon will have food and beverages for sale. All proceeds help support Meals on Wheels.

Meals on Wheels is a signature program of the Community Center of Abingdon. Each week, volunteers help prepare and deliver four meals to more than 125 homebound and disabled neighbors throughout Washington County.

The event is part of Wolf Hills Community School’s ongoing service with Meals on Wheels. Students from WHCS first worked with the program in the fall of 2017, and have since helped prepare and package meals, decorate lids for meals, and deliver meals on a regular basis.

In conjunction with the event, the children of Wolf Hill Community School invite community members to participate in their "Pocket Change Challenge" by bringing their spare change jar to donate to Meals on Wheels. Children have also placed jars to collect spare change at several local businesses. Individuals may donate their spare change at the event, or anytime during regular business hours at the Community Center of Abingdon, 300 Senior Drive in Abingdon.
