JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - "What Do Police Officers Do?" by Jocelyn M. Lacey has been released nationwide by Jan-Carol Publishing, Inc., of Johnson City, Tenn.

Lacey was inspired to write this story after her participation in the Citizen's Police Academy offered by the Johnson City Police Department in her hometown of Johnson City, Tennessee. In addition to working at a police department in North Carolina, she also worked with law enforcement while employed at a domestic violence shelter and children's advocacy center. She lives in Kennebunkport, Maine, with her husband, two dogs, a cat, and two fish.

"What Do Police Officers Do?" is an illustrated children's book detailing acts of kindness, community participation and the many services that police officers perform to protect and serve their communities. This is a useful teaching tool showing children how police officers help people and protect people in their line of duty.

The book is available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble.com, and Jan-Carol Publishing, Inc.
