Book Lovers Paint and Sip Fundraiser Supports Literacy in Kingsport

December 30, 2025

Literacy Council of Kingsport invites the community to enjoy a morning of creativity and connection at the Book Lovers Paint and Sip Fundraiser Saturday, Jan. 24, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Food City Press Room, Kingsport, Tenn.

Participants paint a pair of custom bookends, perfect for any reader’s shelf, while enjoying mimosas, pastries and a relaxed, social atmosphere. Guests are also encouraged to bring a gently used book to take part in a community book swap.

Tickets are $35 per person, plus Eventbrite fees. Attendees may register in person at the Literacy Council office and pay by cash or check to avoid Eventbrite fees. Each ticket includes all painting supplies, refreshments and access to the book swap. Space is limited and early registration is encouraged.

Proceeds from the event support the Literacy Council of Kingsport’s programs, which provide free tutoring and educational opportunities to improve adult and youth literacy and English language skills throughout the community.

“This event is a wonderful way to bring people together over art and books while supporting an important cause,” said Emily Griffey, executive director of the Literacy Council of Kingsport. “Every ticket purchased helps us continue empowering learners and strengthening our community through literacy.”
