The 21st Annual Kingsport Spring Spectacular Photography Contest and Exhibition is held at the Kingsport Art Guild Main Gallery and the Atrium Gallery located in the Kingsport Renaissance Center in Kingsport, Tennessee.
The contest and exhibition are looking for entries for this year’s event. There are four levels of competition youth, amateur, proficient and masters (by invitation).
Competition categories are nature, pictorial and the Carrie Penley Special Theme. This year’s theme is “Unique Architecture.” The photographs can be in color or monochrome (black & white).
Cash prizes and ribbons are awarded for first second and third places, People’s Choice, Best of Show and the Jerry Penley “I Love the Blue Ridge/Appalachian Region.” Honorable mentions receive ribbons.
Entries can be turned in Monday through Friday until May 5, from noon to 4 p.m. and Saturdays May 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entries can be dropped off at the Atrium Gallery located on the second floor of the Kingsport Renaissance Center. Deadline is Saturday May 6 at 4 p.m. Entries may be shipped to Ann Fortney 154 W. Wanola Ave, Kingsport TN 37660, but entries need to arrive by the deadline.
Judging is Saturday May 13 from 10 a.m. until finished. Times depend on number of entries. Judging is at the Kingsport Renaissance Center and is open to the public.
The Kingsport Spring Spectacular Photography Exhibition is from May 21-June 26 at the Kingsport Art Guild Main Gallery and the Atrium Gallery inside the Kingsport Renaissance Center and will be open during regular business hours. The Awards Reception is Sunday May 21 from 2-4 p.m. All awards are presented that day with the exception of the People’s Choice Award; which is presented Sunday, June 4, at 3 p.m. Deadline for voting for the People’s Choice award is Sunday, June 4, at 3 p.m.
