The collaborative works of Charlie Brouwer [Willis, Va.] and Jennifer L. Collins [Radford, Va.] are a case in point; they combine the real space of sculpture with the imaginary space of painting to create 3-D vignettes in which tiny, even drab figures of people and machines are made to seem insignificant by the way they are set off against colorful, sweeping landscapes that recede into faraway space.
