Paramount Center for Arts hires new executive director

November 30, 2021

The Paramount Foundation announces the selection of Jennifer Hayes as executive director of the Paramount Center for the Arts in Bristol, Tennessee. She replaces Miles Marek, the former executive director, who recently moved to California after leading the organization since 2015.

Hayes’ 20 years of leadership experience will guide The Paramount as the historic venue’s Welcome Back season is under way after an 18-month closure due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Ed Balaban, president of the Paramount Foundation says, “The Board of Directors feels Jennifer’s experience and longtime ties to Bristol make her the ideal candidate to help grow the theater to its fullest potential. The experience Jennifer gained as interim executive director and her overall professionalism, along with her passion for the Paramount, will carry us forward for a great future for the theater and the community.”

Hayes brings institutional knowledge of the music and entertainment business as well as marketing and community relations experience from two decades in the radio industry. As a lifelong resident of the Tri-Cities, Hayes has a passion for The Paramount and its impact on the region. She says, “I know I’m not alone when I say Paramount Bristol has been at the center of countless milestones in my life. So many of us have stories about this historic theater and how its impacted our lives in various ways, both personally and professionally. I am beyond proud of what our venue means to the region, and I’m honored to be part of its future.”
