From the sleight of hand magic of Chris Funk to the guitar magic of Billy Gibbons the Paramount Center for the Arts, Bristol, Tennessee, offers a wide range of entertainment in this year’s lineup of live performances, continuing its tradition of presenting a wide range of music, comedy, dance, theater and family programming in the historic downtown venue.
The season opens Jan. 9 with Dailey and Vincent, bringing their blend of bluegrass, gospel and Americana to the Paramount stage. Family programming follows Jan. 22 with Dinosaur World Live, an educational stage production featuring life size dinosaur puppets operated by skilled puppeteers. Designed for children and families, the show combines science based storytelling with visual spectacle, introducing audiences to prehistoric creatures through an interactive theatrical experience. Classic rock fans can attend Tusk, a Fleetwood Mac tribute, Jan. 23. The Symphony of the Mountains Potluck Concert returns Jan. 29.
February programming includes Noise Pollution, an AC DC tribute band, Feb. 6, followed by comedian Craig Ferguson Feb. 15. Rock vocalist Sebastian Bach performs Feb. 20, with Billy Gibbons and the BFG Band appearing Feb. 27.
March features Tab Benoit with Paul Thorn, March 1, A Taste of Ireland, March 7, country artist Larry Fleet, March 13 and magician/musician Chris Funk on March 21.
April highlights include Swan Lake by the World Ballet Company April 21, The Bellamy Brothers April 24 and Leonid and Friends, a Chicago tribute band, April 25. The season continues May 9 with a stage production of The Wizard of Oz.
Additional performances scheduled later in the year include Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood Sept. 18. The Paramount will announce additional shows throughout the year.
