The Rotary Club of Washington County Virginia announces a new writing competition entitled “Writing Magic.” The writing competition accepts submissions from June 15 through Aug. 15.
This first-year competition will feature adult (21+) and youth (ages 15-20) categories, with submission opportunities for adult memoir, poetry, short story and youth categories for poetry and short story.
Submission period opens June 15 and runs through Aug. 15. The adult submission entry fee is $20 and youth category submission fees are $10. Submission information can be found on the Rotary Club’s website, www.rotarywashingtoncova.org. Entries should express magic, as interpreted by the writer.
Prize awards are given to the top three, as selected, in increments of $25, $50 and $100. In addition to cash awards, there will be a publishing opportunity on the Rotary Club of Washington County Virginia website.
Sponsorships are also available for individuals or businesses that might consider supporting this new initiative. The “Writing Magic” competition is a fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Washington County of Virginia. Proceeds are used to benefit children’s programming at Washington County Public Libraries.
