SWVA Museum Announces Winners of 19th Annual Festival of Trees

BIG STONE GAP, VA. - The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park announces the winners of the 19th Annual Festival of Trees. Winners were selected based on votes received from Festival of Trees attendees from Nov. 9 to Dec. 31.

Winners

First Place: "A South Seas Christmas" – LifeCare Ambulance Service of Wise, Va.

Second Place: "The Birth Announcement of Jesus Christ-Tree Dedicated in Memory of Gail Williams" – East Park Avenue Baptist Church of Norton, Va.

Third Place: "The Joy of Pepsi" – Pepsi Bottling Company of Norton, Va.

Fourth Place: "Thank You" – Kevin Allred, DDS, and Office of Big Stone Gap, Va.

Fifth Place: "Our Heroes Don't Wear Capes" – Big Stone Gap Fire Department of Big Stone Gap, Va.

Sixth Place: "Whimsical Colors" – L.J. Horton Florist of Big Stone Gap, Va.

Seventh Place: "Mirror Images" – New Hope Assembly of God of Big Stone Gap, Va.

Eighth Place: "Remembrances" – Jonesville Wal-Mart Associates of Jonesville, Va.

Ninth Place: "Handmade Ornaments" – Powell Valley Middle School of Big Stone Gap, Va.

Tenth Place: "Star Wars" – Powell Valley Animal Hospital of Big Stone Gap, Va.

Volunteers around the Southwest Virginia region decorated holiday trees, mantels, doorways and banisters throughout the Southwest Virginia Museum, sharing their talents and holiday spirit with all who visited the site. This year, 81 groups showcased their creativity.
