Symphony performs holiday concerts

November 27, 2023

A cherished holiday tradition continues this December, as Maestro Cornelia Laemmli Orth gathers the region’s musical community together for two incredibly moving holiday concerts, “By the Fireside.”

The concerts are performed Saturday, Dec. 2, at 3 p.m. at the Toy F. Reid Eastman Employee Center in Kingsport, Tennessee, and Sunday, Dec. 3, at 3 p.m. at the McGlothlin Center for the Arts at Emory & Henry College in Emory, Virginia.

This annual family favorite is filled once again with inspirational classics, festive carols and fun surprises. Performing with the symphony this year are Voices of the Mountains, Mountain Empire Children’s Choral Academy, Mountain Mission School Choir, Academy of Strings and jazz guitarist Andy Page.

Also onsite for fun and photos are Santa Claus and The Grinch.

Tickets to these classic family events are $35, with all children and students admitted free. Group discounts for 10+ are available by calling the Symphony Box Office. To order tickets, call Symphony of the Mountains Box Office at (423) 392-8423 or visit symphonytix.com

Entertaining and educating audiences of all ages since 1946, Symphony of the Mountains transcends borders, performing across the Appalachian Highlands of Tennessee, Virginia and North Carolina, and as far away as Switzerland.
