Theatre Bristol to hold Auditions on January 21-22

January 13, 2007

Bristol, Tenn. -- Theatre Bristol will be holding auditions for Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day on January 21 at 2:30 p.m. and on January 22 at 7 p.m. Auditions will be held upstairs in the rehearsal hall (just follow the signs).

There are 8 daytime school performances on March 14, 15, 22 & 23 at 9:30 and 11:30 daily and one special public performance on March 18 at 2:30 p.m. Please call Theatre Bristol's office for more information at (423) 968-4977.

This show is traditionally done using all adults but we have so many talented kids in this area, we would prefer to cast it using only two adults (one man and one woman) and seven actual kids of mixed genders. At the audition, individuals will be asked to read from the script, sing, and dance, so please wear footwear suitable for dancing. No prepared pieces are needed and experience is not required - but enthusiasm is a must!

For those not familiar with the popular children's book of the same name: Life is unfair, especially for younger brothers, and Judith Viorst's classic 1972 picture book manages to illuminate that truism in such a wonderfully real fashion that it seems downright dangerous to turn it into a play. But Viorst has freshly adapted her work for the stage, developing it into an hour-long show complete with delightful songs.
