Workshop on Cost Effective Public Relations Strategies in Abingdon

ABINGDON, VA -- The Virginia Commission for the Arts in partnership with the Virginians for the Arts Foundation, William King Regional Arts Center and Arlington Arts Center is pleased to invite all Board and Staff members of Virginia arts organizations and anyone interested in learning more about cost efficient public relations strategies for arts organizations to join us in a day long workshop in Abingdon. The day's agenda will be presented by the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Department of Mass Communications and Lauron Associates.

The workshop will take place Wednesday, March 21 from 9 am to 3 pm at the William King Regional Arts Center in Abingdon. The cost is $15, which covers the cost of lunch.

The agenda will include: adapting to the rapidly advancing field of communication in the 21st century, developing the art of planning to achieve cost effectiveness, using print and broadcast media to effectively reach your audiences, practical event planning, and creative partnerships. Workshop speakers include Ron Reid, and Laura Stein. Both speakers are VCU School of Mass Communications faculty members, as well as partners of Lauron Associates. Lauron Associates is a firm dedicated to helping various organizations improve their communication skills and create programs to help support organization staff members.
