BIG STONE GAP, VA.- The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park announces the 14th semester of the WiseJAMS music program. WiseJAMS seeks to preserve our important Appalachian mountain music heritage by offering low-cost classes in fiddle, old-time banjo and guitar to small groups of students in after-school settings.

Classes begin Thursday, Sept. 12 and run through Wednesday, Dec. 11 for the fall session. Classes are held at the Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park on Thursdays from 3:45 – 5:30 p.m. and serve students in grades 4-8. Youth who participate in this program are required to attend all weekly classes. During the classes, students receive an after-school snack and a 90-minute instructional session.
