Alash Ensemble and Shodekeh perform in Johnson City, Tenn.

• OCT. 17: Alash Ensemble is a trio of throat singers and instrumentalists trained in Tuvan music since childhood. In 2012 and 2014, Alash blended its music with Baltimore beat boxer Dominic “Shodekeh” Talifero in its homeland of Tuva, and the result was an independent documentary titled “SHU-DE.” Alash Ensemble and Shodekeh perform in Johnson City, Tenn., at St. John’s Episcopal Church, at 7:30 p.m. $20 general admission, $15 seniors 60+ and $5 for students with ID.
