Fischman Gallery holds exhibit

February 2–25, 2024

Fischman Gallery announces the February exhibit will feature pyrography work by Brandon Moorman. This unusual medium features drawings using a pyrography pen on wood. The opening reception of “PyroPop: A Fusion of Geek Culture and Pyrography” is held Friday, Feb.2. The doors are open from 6:30 p.m.-9p.m. and light refreshments is served. This event is free and open to the public.

Moorman is a resident artist at Atelier 133, the owner of Johnson City Art Popup, and the artist behind Tennessee Geek Art. Brandon works with a variety of mediums but has most recently been building a body of pyrography art. Inspired by pop culture and street art, Brandon creates textured and contrasted designs on natural wood planks and treated skateboard decks using a pyrography pen. He enjoys illustrating figures and icons from video games, movies, television, anime, and other popular media, as well as creating unique designs inspired by nature and stories.

"Pyropop" will be at the gallery from Feb. 2 to FEb. 25. Fischman Gallery, located at 133 N Commerce St., Johnson City, is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The gallery is accessible from Commerce St. For more information, call 423-430-8441, emailfischmangallery@gmail.comor visithttps://www.facebook.com/FischmanGallery/.
