• SEPT. 12-22: The Johnson City Community Theatre presents “How I Learned to Drive” at its downtown Johnson City, Tenn., theater. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m., Sunday matinee is at 2 p.m. Tragic and haunting, the play takes its audience on an uncomfortable journey into the life of someone who has lived with and is attempting to move on from sexual abuse. A discussion is held following the opening night performance with performers and several community health professionals. Due to strong sexual themes, parental discretion is advised.
