JCPL's Fall Youth Programs Begin

JOHNSON CITY – Johnson City Public Library’s recurring youth programs begin Tuesday, Sept. 3 and run through December. Registration is required for some programs and can be completed by calling 423-434-4458.

Mother Goose Storytimeis offered in September and November on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. for babies ages birth-18 months and caregivers. Activities include nursery rhymes, singing and reading with caregiver. Registration is full for September; registration for November begins in October.

Preschool Storytimemeets on Mondays at 6 p.m. and Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 11 a.m. Kids ages 3-5 years sing and listen to stories. No registration but admittance is first-come, first-served, and seating is limited.

Toddler Timemeets on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:15 a.m. Kids ages 18-36 months sing and listen to stories. No registration but admittance is first-come, first-served, and seating is limited.

Music Morning is held at 10 a.m. on Sep. 9 and 23, Nov. 25 and Dec. 2 and 16. Kids ages birth-5 years sing and dance with caregivers.

Book Worms meets on the first and second Thursdays of each month. First Thursdays start at 4:15 p.m. and second Thursdays start at 6:15 p.m. and will feature the same book. Kids ages 5-8 years listen to the story and then do an activity. Registration is required.

Book Scouts is held on the third Thursdays of each month at 6 p.m. Youth ages 8-12 years discover new books in their areas of interest with the help of a librarian. Registration is required.

Family Building Day is held Saturdays, Sept. 14, Oct. 12 and Dec. 14. Families can drop in between 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. to build with Legos and other materials.

Tale to Tail and Reading Paws give kids ages 5-10 years a chance to read for 15 minutes to a trained listening dog. Tale to Tail happens every Monday between 4-6 p.m. and Reading Paws is Saturdays, Oct. 19, Nov. 16 and Dec. 21 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Registration is required.
