The Johnson City Public Library holds a variety of events during the upcoming week.

Wednesday, Nov. 13

  • Mother Goose Story time (Ages birth-18 months and caregivers) 9:30-10 a.m. Registration required.
  • Toddler Time (Ages 18-36 months and caregivers) 10:15-10:45 a.m.
  • Preschool Story time (Ages 3-5 years and caregivers) 11-11:30 a.m.
  • Symphony in the Stacks (All ages) 6-7 p.m. Members of Johnson City Symphony Orchestra play classical music in the Jones Meeting Room, first come, first seated.

Thursday, Nov. 14

  • Mother Goose Story time (Ages birth-18 months and caregivers) 9:30-10 a.m. Registration required.
  • Toddler Time (Ages 18-36 months and caregivers) 10:15-10:45 a.m.
  • Preschool Story time (Ages 3-5 years and caregivers) 11-11:30 a.m.
  • Spanish-Inglés Conversation (All ages) 6-7 p.m. All language skill levels, converse with Spanish and English speakers. Hablar con hablantes de inglés y español, para todos niveles e edades.
  • Book Worms: Thank You, Omu! (Ages 5-8) 6:15-7 p.m. Registration required.

Friday, Nov. 15

  • NaNoWriMo Teen Writing Hour (Ages 12-18) 3:30-5 p.m. Work on personal writing projects every Friday in November.
  • Knitting Circle (Ages 13+) 4-6 p.m. Bring personal knitting or crochet projects to work on.

Saturday, Nov. 16

  • READing Paws (Ages 5-9 and caregivers) 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Register for 15-minute time slot to read to trained listening dog.
  • NaNoWriMo Creative Writing Type-In (Ages 18+) 1-4 p.m. Creative writing workshop led by Langley Shazor of The Casual Word, registration required.

Monday, Nov. 18

  • Tale to Tail (Ages 5-9 & caregivers) 4-5, 5:15-6:15 p.m. Register for 15-minute time slot to read to trained listening dog.
  • Evening Preschool Story time (Ages 3-5 & caregivers) 6:30-7 p.m. Same as Tuesday and Wednesday storytimes, children can wear pajamas.

Tuesday, Nov. 19

  • Toddler Time (Ages 18-36 months and caregivers) 10:15-10:45 a.m.
  • Preschool Story time (Ages 3-5 years and caregivers) 11-11:30 a.m.
  • VA Homeless Programs Assistance (Ages 18+) 12:30-1:30 p.m. VA community outreach social worker available to talk with U.S. veterans about short- and long-term housing programs.
  • Taller Literario / Spanish Literary Club (Ages 18+) 6-7 p.m. Must have at least intermediate skill level, discussions in Spanish of classic and modern Spanish literature, registration required. (Mayores de 18 años) 6-7 p.m. Debe tener al menos habilidades intermedias, discusiones en Español de literatura Española clásica y moderna, se require registro.
  • Makey Makey Thanksgiving (Ages 12-18) 6-7:30 p.m. Use Thanksgiving foods to conduct electricity, registration required.
