Socially-Engaged Art a one-week workshop

• MARCH 2-25: Socially-Engaged Art is a four week workshop held at William King Museum of Art, Abingdon, Va., from 5:30-8 p.m. Students learn about a variety of artists who have used art as a platform for political critique and social change. Then, students pursue their own research on social, environmental, or other contemporary issues that interest them. Finally, students embark on a series of creative projects including a linocut poster and a zine that address their issue of choice. Most supplies included.This class is idea-focused and is appropriate for all skill levels (including “stick figure” drawing). Seating and supplies limited.
