The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park announces the fall semester of the WiseJAMS music program. WiseJAMS seeks to preserve important Appalachian mountain music heritage by offering low-cost classes in fiddle, old-time banjo and guitar to small groups of students in after-school settings.
Classes begin Thursday, Sept. 8and runs through Thursday, Dec. 8 for the 2022 fall session. Classes are held at the Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park on Thursdaysfrom3:45 – 5:45 p.m. and serve students in grades 3-8. Youth who participate in this program are required to attend all weekly classes. During the classes, students receive an after school snack and a 90-minute instructional session.
