'The Hours' is on screen

• DEC. 10:The Metropolitan Opera production of Kevin Puts’“The Hours”is shown at 12:55 p.m., at The Legacy Theaters, Bristol, Va. Soprano Renée Fleming makes his return to the Met in the world-premiere production fo Pulitzer Prize-winning composed Puts. “The Hours” is adapted from Michael Cunningham’s novel. Inspired by Virginia Woolf’s Mrs. Dalloway and made a household name by the film version starring Meryl Streep, Julianne Moore and Nicole Kidman, the story follows three women from different eras who grapple with their inner demons and roles in society. Sopraho Kelli O’Hara and mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato join Fleming.
