Knoxville Children’s Theatre, in partnership with the Clayton Foundation, presents a live production of "The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe." The play isperformed from Aug.7through the 23,with showtimes onThursdays and Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., and Sundays at 3 p.m.
The production takes place in Knoxville Children’s Theatre’s exciting new location at 747 World’s Fair Park.Free onsite parking is provided.
This stage version of C.S. Lewis’ beloved story recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who wander through an old wardrobe into the unforgettable land of Narnia. The play is filled with action, including chases, duelsand daring escapes, as the White Witch fights to maintain her hold on Narnia and prevent the return of Aslan. The world of Narnia is populated by a rich array of characters, including Mr. Tumnus, Mr. and Mrs. Beaver, Father Christmasand a host of magical creatures. At its heart, the story explores courage, sacrificeand the triumph of good over evil.
The production features 20 young actors, ages 9 to 17. The cast includes Luke Bounds as Edmund, Maggie Mae Anderson as Lucy, Jude Tucker as Peter, Sage Jamison as Aslan, and Ida Roberson as The White Witch. Also joining them in Narnia are KCT veterans Zoe Brockman, Laila Brown, Charlie Fritts, Daisy Fritts, Lydia Komeshak, Allison Loveday, Celia McKenzie, Zaide Otis, Emery Roberson, Emma Simsand Taylor Tucker. Making their KCT debuts are Leo Carreon, Lily Cooper, Kirk Gordon, Lily Przybyszewskiand Corbin Sauceda.
The play is directed by KCT alumni, Quintin Rhodes. The scenic design is led by Harper Knight and assisted by Kea Mitchell, Natalie Graves, and Lu Jarnigan. Ava Reagan serves as costume designer and is assisted by Kai Banda, Scarlett Cooperand Harper Monday. The props are designed by McKenzie Schumacher and assisted by James Carpenter, Lyric Bledsoe, Daniel Barrow and Everett Schumacher. Rosalie Linnabary serves as the lighting designer. The play is stage managed by Emily Rowe and assistant stage managed by Kai Williams.
