• OCT. 21: “Wrestle” is shown at 7 p.m. in East Tennessee State University’s Ball Hall, Johnson City, Tenn., as part of the South Arts Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers, sponsored by Mary B. Martin School of the Arts. The showing is followed by a Q&A with filmmaker Suzannah Herbert and a light reception. Wrestle follows four members of an underdog high school wrestling team in Huntsville, Ala., through one competitive season. The courageous athletes and their coach wrestle for the championship, as well as with factors of race, mental health, drugs, poverty, unstable home life and events that vie to drain them of motivation.
