ABINGDON, Va.—Celebrate the start of the holiday season at the Made in Southwest Virginia:Holiday Market, showcasing the best of Southwest Virginia’s artisan talent Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Southwest Virginia Cultural Center & Marketplace. The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Abingdon, Virginia.
This annual showcase invites the public to experience the talent, cultureand creativity that make Southwest Virginia a vibrant hub for traditional and contemporary craft. With more than 30 regional artisans displaying and demonstrating, the market offers the chance for guests to start shopping for the holiday season.
"This event is a celebration of the talent and artistry that make Southwest Virginia unique," said Kim Davis, executive director of 'Round the Mountain Artisan Network and Friends of Southwest Virginia. "We invite both residents and visitors to experience the craftsmanship and creativity that defines our region."
The Southwest Virginia Cultural Center & Marketplace (Heartwood)serves as the gateway to the region’s cultural and outdoor experiences. As part of the ‘Round the Mountain Artisan Network, the center plays a vital role in supporting local artists and makers while connecting the public with the region’s thriving creative economy.
