Noa Baum to Perform at Johnson City Public Library

JOHNSON CITY – Johnson City Public Library is hosting a free performance by storyteller Noa Baum Wednesday, June 24 at 6 p.m. in the library’s Jones Meeting Center. This event is made possible through the library’s partnership with the International Storytelling Center.

Baum is an award-winning storyteller, authorand coach who focuses on the power of narrative to heal divides and promote compassion. Born and raised in Israel, Baum is passionate about the essential role of storytelling in building peace between individuals and groups.

She has performed internationally since 1982—from Turkey to Australia—as well as at the World Bank and U.S. Department of Defense. She presents at premier storytelling venues across the U.S., including the National Storytelling Festival and the Kennedy Center.

Baum holds an M.A. in Educational Theater and Drama Therapy from New York University. She is the author of “A Land Twice Promised: An Israeli Woman’s Quest for Peace” and “How the Birds Became Friends,” a children’s folktale celebrating the power of kindness.
