'Gathering' and Crooked Road team up

The Gathering in the Gap Music Festival announces that for this year’s festival, which will be held on May 25 at the Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park, the Friends of the Southwest Virginia Museum have teamed up with The Crooked Road: Virginia’s Heritage Music Trail.

The Crooked Road: Virginia's Heritage Music Trail is celebrating its 20thAnniversary in 2024. First recognized by the General Assembly, The Crooked Road links together 10 major venues and over 50 affiliate venues in Southwest Virginia that feature old time and bluegrass music on a regular basis. The Crooked Road's marketing of cultural music experiences has played a vital role in supporting regional arts as well as creating economic development in the region. In celebration of 20 years of promoting traditional music, The Crooked Road is sponsoring the Acoustic Arbor stage at this year's Gathering in the Gap music festival at the Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park in Big Stone Gap, Virginia,May 25. The stage will feature artists showcasing the very best of The Crooked Road's musical heritage. Acts include the Big Stone Gap WiseJAMS music program, Clinch Mountain Echoes, Town Branch Bluegrass and The Crooked Road's current Artist in Residence, Jared Boyd accompanied by Stacy Boyd.
