Stitchers create art

Local needle arts aficionados have gathered in the Embroiderers' Guild of America's Bristol Tennessee/Virginia chapter since 1980.

• Barter Theatre and "Round The Mountain receive awards At a special ceremony at Heartwood in Abingdon, Va., Barter Theatre and "Round the Mountain received major statewide honors, along with cash prizes.
• William King Museum receives Top 10 Honor The Virginia Association of Museums announced the winners in the Virginia's Top 10 Endangered Artifacts Program. William King Museum's piece "Untitled (Watermills from around Southwest Virginia)" by Minnie Ma Scyphers has the honor of being in the Top 10

• Herb Parker teaches new actors to "Bark Like a Dog!' and more in new book "Bark Like a Dog! Outrageous Ideas for Actors" is a new book authored by East Tennessee State University theatre professor Herb Parker.
